The File Factory Factory are an independent, UK based designer and manufacturer of files, folders and bespoke filing stationery products. Their expertise covers an extensive range of products from simple budget shelf files through to specialist personnel and legal folders.

We were approached by The File Factory with a brief to give their existing site a fresh, modern and most importantly responsive update. They also wanted an easy-to-use content management system so that their back-office staff could add to and edit their website's content.

What we did

What we did

We started The File Factory web design and development project by getting a firm understanding of The File Factory's product range. Once the information architecture work was complete we took the research we'd done and the conversations we'd had with the marketing team and conceived a design and content hierarchy that was quick and easy to navigate for their users.

The website design phase involved creating clear and attractive page layouts that are modern and convey The File Factory branding, and of course responsive, but also well structured to display the various product categories and levels of navigation.

The individual product pages involved a lot of thought and planning but we tackled any potential issues at the wireframing stage so that once we were into design and development any remaining issues were minor and easy to resolve.

The site is another of our Craft CMS builds, hosted on our servers at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the feedback we've had from the team responsible for updating the content pages has been nothing but positive, they even manage to train new-starters themselves.
