MHLEC goes live
My Home Live Essex Community (MHLEC) is part of the wider national My Home Life movement; established in 2006 to improve the quality of life of everyone connected with care homes for older people.
After several months of hard work the new My Home Live Essex Community (MHLEC) goes live today.
The website, designed and hosted by Enovate, is built upon the the immensely powerful Craft CMS. In the design and build phase we also introduced some new tools into our workflow, those being a new Gulp task runner for our build script, BrowserSync for faster front-end development and Vagrant for quicker development environment set-up.
Chris Harvey, the Vice-Chairman for the My Home Life Essex Community Association was particularly pleased with switching the site from Wordpress to Craft CMS:
Vice-Chairman, My Home Life Essex Community AssociationThe existing two sites were limited in functionality and suffered from a lack of user control over 'look and feel' and did not provide us with sufficient flexibility to manage content and its presentation to the user.
Craft has proved an ideal CMS in which to build a modern site and in particular the administrative interface is far more flexible than some others. With the ability to preview content 'on-the-fly' and easily manipulate content, it provides an ideal management system, which suits both our experienced and occasional content editors.
We are very pleased with the response by Enovate to our original statement of need and have been delighted to work with them on this mutually challenging project.
We have gone to great lengths to ensure a smooth web experience for users on all devices and the feedback we've received indicates that, so far, our efforts have been successful.
