The Brief
Go Communications have been a trusted client of Enovate since 2008 when we were first commissioned to redesign their website; this new iteration is in fact the 3rd re-design we have completed and we are proud to have been working with Go Communications for so many years.
Having a strong brand, Go Communications wanted a new design that better personified them as a company and one that would help them stand out in the ultra-competitive world of IT hardware supply.
David Mayberry, Managing Director at Go Communications believes in an ‘evolution not revolution’ approach to the company’s website. It was his intention for the site to keep its existing content and functionality, but to bring a fresh, responsive design to proceedings. Responsiveness is the ability for the site to adapt its layout to fit the device it is being displayed on, whether it be a desktop, tablet or mobile device. All of our websites are responsive as standard.
What we did
Taking their logo as inspiration, we used solid colours on a white background and integrated their unique style of photography to create a website design that is both attractive and immediately recognisable as part of the Go Communications range of marketing materials.
Built on our go-to content management system, Craft CMS, the site is easy to edit and add new content to by making use of the infinitely flexible Matrix block within Craft that allows editors to position and align content as they please.
As well as a fully-featured content publication facility, we also developed a cable selector tool allowing users to select the primary and secondary ends of a cable, see a list of matching cables and be emailed their results.
Another key feature that we built is the product catalogue that’s home to the many items stocked by Go Communications. Users can drill down into the various product types and categories to find the specific product they need and then read or download more information about that product.
