Laravel Web DevelopmentApplications
Bespoke web applications, custom business software, AI implementation, and complex e-commerce builds, delivered in Laravel, the framework we've trusted for custom application work for the best part of a decade.
The framework behind our bespoke software
Laravel is our framework of choice for building custom web applications. It's the most popular PHP framework by a wide margin, backed by a well-resourced core team and a mature ecosystem of packages and tooling.
Crucially for the organisations we work with, it produces systems that are straightforward and cost-effective to maintain years after launch — and that you can hire other developers to work on if you ever need to.
It underpins the majority of our bespoke software, much of our integration and automation work, and the foundation layer of our AI projects.
Our Laravel credentials
Laravel has been a core part of our stack for the best part of a decade, and the backbone of our bespoke software work.
When Laravel is the right answer
We build Laravel applications when a content management system won't stretch to what the project needs. That usually means one of five things.
Custom business software
For organisations whose day-to-day work is held together by spreadsheets, shared inboxes, and ageing tools. A bespoke system replaces that tangle with role-based access, clear workflows, audit trails, and reporting.
Bespoke e-commerce
When your order process, pricing rules, or customer workflows don't fit a standard Shopify build. B2B portals with account-based pricing, quote-to-order workflows, configurable products, and tight ERP or stock integration.
Customer portals and member areas
Authenticated areas where your clients, members, or customers access their own data, manage accounts, submit requests, or interact with your team — often integrated with an existing CRM or back-office system.
Process automation and integration
Laravel's queue system, event broadcasting, and API tooling make it a natural orchestration layer — pulling data from multiple sources, triggering workflows, and automating steps that currently happen by hand.
AI delivery
Most of our AI projects are delivered as Laravel applications. Laravel handles the data layer, scheduling, API integration, and front-end, while the AI-specific work sits in well-isolated components we can test and evolve independently.
Why Laravel, and not something else
The honest answer is that the framework matters less than what it lets us avoid arguing about. Laravel gives us fast, structured access to the features every application needs — authentication, authorisation, background jobs, event systems, APIs, database migrations — so we spend our time on the parts that are actually unique to your project.
The second reason is longevity. Laravel is the most widely adopted PHP framework by a wide margin, which means the application we hand you is one that other developers can pick up years from now. We’ve carried applications through Laravel’s major version upgrades rather than leaving them to rot on an old release, and we’d rather build you something you’re not locked into.
Is it an application or a website?
It’s the question worth settling before anything else, because the answer changes the budget.
If what you’re building is mostly pages of content — even a lot of them, in several languages — that’s a content-managed website, and it will be cheaper to build and cheaper to run. If it has users doing work inside it, with records, approvals, calculations, and other systems to talk to, that’s an application, and a CMS bent into that shape becomes expensive to maintain very quickly.
If you’re not sure which one you’ve got, that’s exactly what a scoping conversation is for. Get in touch and we’ll tell you honestly.
Applications need care after launch
Dependencies change, users ask for small improvements, integrations break, and new requirements emerge. Our Laravel retainers give you predictable monthly support from the team that built your system — or a new team to take over an existing application.
What our clients say
We're incredibly proud of the testimonials we've amassed over the years. They're hard-won—often the result of hundreds or thousands of hours of consistent delivery and timely responses, and partnerships that have lasted years and years.
Massive thank you to the Enovate team for our new website. Really happy with the end result, but the journey getting there was even more impressive. As someone with little skillset to do it myself, Dan and the team delivered precisely on the brief with no technical input from our side. They even added a few innovative touches on top of what was costed to bring it home! We will use Enovate again, for sure.
“Thank you so much to Dan, Michael and the team at Enovate for their dedication to building our new website. From the very beginning Dan and Michael were completely on board with assisting us with the design and development of our site. They had listened to every part of our specifications and made it happen. They made the process feel seamless and their attention to detail was spot on. We have also completed the Craft CMS training with Dan which is very easy to use. We can keep our website up to date and add our own News and Media stories with ease. Southend Care would highly recommend Enovate, the team are professional, patient and work extremely hard to get you the website you want. Thank you, team Enovate, it’s been a pleasure.”
“Thank you so much, Dan! We are thrilled with the new site and it’s been a pleasure working with you and your team.”
“We are so stoked with our new website. Working with Dan and the team was an absolute pleasure - they were responsive, great with advice and were in step with us the whole way. I can't recommend Enovate enough.”
How we build Laravel applications
Every project starts with scoping and ends with a team that's still around. Here's what happens in between.
Scoping
For larger projects, a structured discovery exercise covering users, workflows, integrations, and data. For smaller ones, a focused conversation about what needs to exist and what can wait.
A plan you can price
The output of scoping is a clear brief, a realistic estimate, and a delivery plan broken into phases — so you see progress early rather than paying up front for a single big-bang launch.
Built in the open
Regular demos, a staging environment from the first weeks, and visibility into progress at every stage. No black box, and no surprises at handover.
Tested, and kept tested
Every build ships with an automated test suite — feature tests across the workflows your team depends on, unit tests over the logic beneath them — so a change two years from now can't quietly break something that mattered. Each phase still goes to staging for your team to sign off before it touches live data.
Deployed to our own platform
We deploy to our own AWS hosting with queue workers, scheduled jobs, and Redis caching configured as standard. The team that builds your application is responsible for running it.
Supported for the long term
Predictable monthly support from the people who wrote the code, with guaranteed response times and proactive maintenance. Several of our Laravel clients have been with us for years.
Laravel questions
The questions we're asked most often before a project starts. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch.
If the thing you're building is mostly pages of content, a CMS is the right answer and cheaper to run. If it has users doing work in it — workflows, records, approvals, calculations, integrations with other systems — that's an application, and a CMS will fight you. If you're unsure, that's exactly what our scoping phase is for.
Small internal tools start around £15,000. Most business systems we deliver land between £25,000 and £100,000. Larger multi-phase platforms go beyond that. We break projects into phases so you get working software early rather than paying everything up front for a single big-bang launch.
Most Laravel applications run 3–6 months from kickoff to first release, with phase one typically live sooner than that. We deliver in increments against a plan agreed at scoping, so you see progress from the first few weeks rather than waiting until the end.
It's the most widely used PHP framework by a wide margin, with a well-resourced core team and a mature package ecosystem. Practically, that means two things that matter to you: we can build faster because the plumbing is already solved, and you can hire other developers to work on it years from now if you ever need to.
Yes — every Laravel application we build ships with a test suite. Feature tests cover the workflows your team relies on end to end, and unit tests cover the logic underneath them; our larger applications run to several hundred tests. It's the difference between a system you can still safely change in year three and one nobody dares touch.
Yes. You own the application we build for you outright, and we hand over the repository. We'd like to keep supporting it, but you're never locked in.
Usually, yes. Laravel's queue system, event broadcasting, and API tooling make it a natural orchestration layer between systems. We've integrated with CRMs, ERPs, accounting packages, payment gateways, and stock systems. If a system has an API, we can almost certainly talk to it — and where one doesn't, there are usually other routes in.
Custom applications need ongoing care — dependencies change, users ask for improvements, integrations break. We offer Laravel retainers for exactly this: predictable monthly support from the team that built your system, with guaranteed response times and proactive maintenance.
Yes. We start with a code and infrastructure audit so you get an honest picture of what you've inherited, then agree a plan for stabilising it before we take on ongoing development.
Most of our AI implementation projects are delivered as Laravel applications. Laravel handles the data layer, scheduling, API integration, and front-end, while the AI-specific work sits in well-isolated components we can test and evolve independently. That keeps the AI part replaceable as the models move on.
