Brief

Brief

The International Women's Forum UK is a dynamic network of outstanding women of diverse achievements and interests. As an organisation, they are dedicated to advancing better leadership across all sectors, supporting the next generation of women leaders, and offering each other friendship and enriching exchanges.

IWF UK approached Enovate with a brief to replace their existing website which had become very hard to update and didn't reflect their image as a professional networking organisation. The overal design and content management sytem needed replacing and the site needed to be responsive so that it looked great and functioned reliably on any device.

They also wanted to better promote their range of members only events by using Eventbrite and importing event data into the site via Eventbrite's API. Finally, and probably most importantly, IWF wanted to switch their membership process to an online, direct debit system to provide efficencies for both their back-office staff and their members.

What we did

What we did

Our website redesign and redevelopment projects always begin with a process of research and discovery and so we started by talking to the IWF UK team about the issues with their current site, what they wanted the new site to do and how they wanted it to look to gain a clear understanding of what was required and how we'd go about delivering it.

Once we were all agreed on requirements we could begin developing wireframes and designs for the main pages in the site and following the completion of the design phase we began translating those designs into working web pages. Our progress was shared and discussed with the client via a secure, development site and changes were made to the developing site until they were happy with our work.

The largest and most sensitive part of the project involved importing and creating accounts for all the existing members and setting up the direct debit schemes and related logic to allow members to pay their annual subscriptions via GoCardless. IWF UK provided a small group of test users for us to demo the new process and ensure everything ran smoothly ahead of rolling everything out as pat of the launch of the new site.

We're really happy with the new website we've designed and built for the IWF UK and their membership and we certainly learnt a lot during the project, particularly related to the direct debit process and the security around public and members' access to the various areas within the site.

If you're considering a similar project take a look at the site and then get in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you.
