The Brief
Southend Care approached us with a request to pitch for the redesign and redevelopment of both their web and intranet sites.
The main objectives of the new website were to make the content entry process much easier for editors, to refresh and update the site’s design across all devices and generate more enquiries and leads along with a higher volume of online job applications.
We met with the marketing team at Southend Care’s head office to outline our vision, the approach we’d take and the technologies we’d use and were delighted to be awarded the contract ahead of our competitors.
What we did
With the contract effectively involving two projects, we started with the website with the idea that we could save time and budget when we came to the intranet project by reusing design and code developed for the website in the intranet. This proved to be a very effective approach (the intranet project in underway as I write this post) and has helped keep the overall budget on track across both projects.
The discovery and design process was very smooth and resulted in a design that the Southend Care team were very happy with, achieving both a modern new look, in keeping with their branding, whilst being accessible and very easy to read and navigate.
Once the development site had been built it was made available to Southend Care’s editors who, following their Craft CMS training session, diligently worked through the content entry process with Enovate providing guidance and support along the way.
The finished website launched on schedule and within budget and the main satisfaction for us is seeing how much easier it is for Southend Care’s editors to create and post new content whenever they want to and the steady flow of enquiries and online job applications the site has generated, fulfilling the original aims of the brief.
