The Brief
TDI Tuning are a leading specialist in performance tuning for diesel and petrol vehicles, selling their plug-in tuning boxes and remapping services to customers across the world from their headquarters in Chelmsford. By 2024 their existing website (a substantial Laravel application) had been with the same development agency for a number of years and TDI’s team were ready for a change.
They approached us looking for a more responsive technical partner who could take over development of the platform, address a growing list of issues and feature requests, and provide ongoing support without a long handover period.
What we did
Onboarding an inherited codebase always carries some risk and a Laravel application of this size is no exception. We began with a thorough audit of the existing code, infrastructure and deployment pipeline so that we understood exactly what we were taking on before any work began. With that grounding in place we were able to give TDI Tuning a confident transition with no break in service.
Since then we’ve been working with the TDI team on a Laravel retainer basis, picking up the day-to-day development, addressing technical debt and rolling out the improvements they’d been waiting for. Like any long-running platform there’s plenty of work still to do but the engagement has settled into a steady rhythm and we’re pleased to be part of the next chapter for the TDI Tuning website.
