In this blog post, I will be discussing what structured data is, how developers can implement it on their websites, and what effects using structured data can have to their sites and end users.

SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is the process of improving the prominence of a website or web page in search engine unpaid (also known as organic) results. The aim being to increase rankings and in turn the volume of traffic to the website or web page from search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. Optimisation usually involves improving both on-page and off-page rankings factors. On-page optimisation might include editing a websites content, HTML, internal links and URLs and off-page optimisation might include increasing the number of backlinks to the website.
