The Brief
The team at the Energy & Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) approached us with a bit of a dilemma… their incumbent agency was going out of business and so they needed to rapidly migrate their Craft CMS website to a new company that could provide web hosting and Craft CMS maintenance and support.
On reviewing the existing site’s codebase it became apparent that the site would greatly benefit from an upgrade to Craft 3 and so we pitched a project to ECIU that handled both the migration of their business over to us and the upgrade of their website to Craft CMS version 3.
The upgrade project we proposed was effectively a total rebuild of the site using our framework as the foundation but maintaining the existing site’s look and feel whilst rebuilding everything else from scratch.
What we did
We built a brand new ECIU website, leveraging the many hundreds of hours that have gone into our framework site to give the client a completely new website with additional functionality and an enhanced editing experience, not to mention the inherent benefits of moving to the latest version of Craft CMS.
Since then, the site has continued to evolve and develop as new features are added and the net effect of this work is that ECIU is recognised as one of the foremost sources of information on the topic of energy and climate change. Something that we’re very proud to be a part of.
